Job Title: Commercial Accounts Manager

Location: Wirral

Salary: Competitive Basic+ Package

Currently working with a global player within their market, having a strong foothold in both the UK and globally, who require a Commercial Account Manager role on a permanent basis. The main focus of the Commercial Accounts Manager role is to dual faceted: develop, grow and main a range of existing accounts for the business whilst looking to develop new markets to increase their market's position in the sector.

Pivotal to the success of the role will be the ability of the candidate to effectively utilise the business' current market position and sales techniques to solidify growth in the market whilst bring new ideas and methodologies to the sales department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account management of a specified portfolio of customers to deliver the sales plan on margin and volume, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements including payment terms and credit limits.
  • Identify and convert new credit worthy business opportunities that enhance the overall portfolio.
  • Provide continuous margin improvement using analysis of business MI and via close co-operation with the wider business teams.
  • Provide technical and commercial understanding of the product and supply chain to create added value to the customer.
  • Negotiate and agree contracts with target customers within the parameters laid down within the manual of authorities.
  • Be responsible and proactive in HSSE issues affecting customers, staff and business partners.
  • Provide insightful business analysis enabling better decision-making, tender costing, volume tracking, and customer profitability analysis for the portfolio.
  • Utilise margin and volume data to steer business decisions and optimise sell out pricing across the Commercial business by reacting to real time market, customer and competitor information.
  • Provide administrative support across the Marketing business, when required, including purchase order set up and processing, account reconciliations, reporting and rebates.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent standard qualifications
  • The candidate must be able to develop and maintain long term relationships with customers at senior level right up to boardroom, while co-ordinating the activities of our internal and external service providers to achieve our overall sales targets.
  • Exposure to sales/business development role preferably in the chemicals/petrochemical sales sector or associated markets or other equivalent industries.
  • Demonstrate technical literacy, understanding of the fuel market, supply chains and a desire to learn in a wide ranging business environment
  • Ability to work well in teams, showing a positive approach to challenges and change is a key requirement.
  • The ideal candidate will see this role as an opportunity to develop as a sales professional, by showing the ability, drive and commitment to progress through to Field Based or Key Account Manager roles within the sales and marketing team
